Batuan Village Is a village, in Bali, Indonesia. It is noted for its artwork and style of painting which originated in the village in the 1930s and has since emerged into a major Balinese artistic style, known as a Batuan Village Painting. It is a major painting center and contains a number of art galleries and cooperative art societies which have played a key role in promoting the art of Batuan Village. The Batuan Village is also known for its performance of the ancient Gambuh dance.
Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve temple complex in Ubud Village Bali. Its full name as written on a welcome sign is the Mandala Suci Wenara Wana Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary - Padangtegal - Ubud. Ubud Royal Palace or Puri Saren Ubud is one of the most prominent places in Ubud Village, as it is smack dab on the main Jalan Raya Ubud road and intersection. The palace can also be regarded as the focal landmark of Ubud Village. The Ubud Palace was built during the lordship of the late Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel (1800-1823) and is well kept by his successive heirs. A visit to the Puri Saren Ubud is on many of the itineraries to the Ubud area.
Ubud Art Market locally referred to as Pasar Seni Ubud is located opposite the the Ubud Royal Palace and is open daily. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats, statues, kites and many other hand crafted goods. Most of the goods found at the Ubud Market are made in the neighboring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan and Peliatan.
