Taman Ayun Temple is a Paibon Temple / Pedarman the kings of Mengwi to worship the ancestral spirits of kings which is manifested by the construction of a Paibon gedong, and also built meru-meru for worship and worship of the gods for the people of the Mengwi kingdom in asking for prosperity.
Alas Kedaton - Monkey Forest Temple is located in Kutuh Village in the district of Marga, Tabanan, approximately 25km northeast of Denpasar and 4,5 kilometers from Tabanan regency. Thus theoretically, it should be considered as part of Mengwi, yet in reality the Tabanan royal family has developed most influence over this temple.
